Vegas Venues: Palms Casino Resort Updates Meeting Space

The Palms Casino Resort has announced that its updated meeting and convention space will be unveiled September 16. This is the first phase of a $146 million property remodel that will include new restaurants, luxury theaters, gaming areas, VIP-deck, and remolded porte-corchere.

The property’s 19,000-square-foot meeting and event space includes five meeting rooms and a 10,300-square-foot grand ballroom. Venues can cater from 20 to 1,000 guests and can now be customized with the newest AV capabilities.  A custom digital signage system boasts interactive 60-inch displays throughout meeting rooms and an upgraded sound system. The pre-function area features a backlit bar and leather furnishings.

On the way: updates to the glass enclosed business center. The center is designed for privacy, convenience and accessibility, and soon connecting hallways and restrooms will add additional improvements.

Since 2001, the Palms has earned a reputation for hosting business conferences, including many Fortune 500 companies and  events like the MTV Video Music Awards.

To celebrate their updated space, the Palms is offering a special incentive for the first meeting planners who book. The “Industry Insider & Incentives” package will include a $200 spa credit for the meeting planner, as well as:

  • 20-100 rooms on peak: one complimentary coffee break
  • 101-300 rooms on peak: one complimentary cocktail reception (based on peak room night)
  • 300 + rooms on peak: 10 percent credit to the master account

The Palms houses 1,200 guest rooms in three towers, including many luxury suites with views of Las Vegas, several onsite restaurants, and day-life and nightlife entertainment venues.

Carillon Miami Wellness Resort Set to Add New Meeting Space

The Carillon Miami Wellness Resort will add 3,500 square feet of meeting space when it debuts an extensive $10 million renovation project this October. The resort was built in 1958, situated along the largest stretch of beach in Miami; at the time it was the second largest property in Miami Beach.

Renovations include significant upgrades to the 150,000 square feet of the resort’s public and meeting spaces. The project is led by world-renowned hotel designer Peter Silling and intends to imbue the resort with a new level of luxury. A redesigned lobby, a Rat Pack-era inspired lounge and bar, an ocean view restaurant with a private dining room, a grab-and-go café, an enhanced outdoor terrace dining and event space, and 3,500 additional square feet of private meeting spaces are all in the works.

Throughout the renovations, a design aesthetic which blends contemporary luxury touches with the resort’s natural ocean surroundings cultivates a sense of serene ambiance, in line with the resort’s focus on wellness.

The new layout and structure of the lobby plans to make guests feel more welcomed upon arrival; the new location and design of the concierge desks apparently intend to make the guests feel more relaxed and the staff more approachable, thanks to strategic positioning.

The lobby’s new design also embraces the natural ambience of the beachfront environment and the views of the Atlantic Ocean, with calming beige tones in the stone floors and walls and light timbers in natural wood paneling and timber feature screens. White columns accentuate a chandelier that serves as the lobby’s centerpiece.

On the lobby’s right will be Carillon Miami’s new lounge and bar, inspired by the original hotel’s “Tambourine Lounge.” From the modernist design to the menu items ranging from signature vintage cocktails, an array of wines, wellness cocktails and fine cuisine, the lounge and bar plans to be evocative of the Rat Pack era during which the resort was a hugely popular hub.

Accompanying the renovations is the opening of The Strand Bar & Grill. At this restaurant, guests can experience contemporary, farm-fresh cuisine centered around South Florida’s organic, community sourced ingredients from local boutique farms, all the while looking out onto the ocean. Local, fresh-caught fish, house-made pastas, processed heirloom grains and antibiotic-free meats compose the restaurant’s American-Mediterranean fusion menu.

Following the renovations, the resort’s reimagined Ocean Terrace will become the closest beachfront location in Miami. With a nature-inspired design, the venue’s furniture and fabrics utilize neutral tones, a trellis overhanging and a glass covered walkway to make Ocean Terrace an indoor and outdoor space suitable for special events and gatherings to light bites and cocktails.

The new grab-and-go Corner Store will provide a setting for morning sandwiches, coffee or post-workout juice. Menu items at the store include fresh roasted coffee, homemade pastries, salads, sandwiches, juices and gelato.

The newly added, 3,500-square- foot Atlantic Room serves as a private meeting space, suitable for corporate travel needs. The new venues possess the latest technology, including 70-inch smart TVs, built-in sound, intelligent lighting and a 100 person capacity.

When all renovations are complete, the new Carillon Miami Wellness Resort will include 150 one- and two-bedroom suites, food and beverage options, the aforementioned 3,500-square-foot meeting space, a 70,000-square-foot spa, fitness and wellness center, four pools, an a private, 750-foot stretch of Miami Beach.
