Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe Introduces Impact Experiences

The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is offering new Impact Experiences for groups looking to contribute to the Lake Tahoe community. The experiences are social and environmental activities aimed at groups that want to engage in efforts that support child well-being, hunger and poverty relief, and environmental responsibility, and are available this holiday season and beyond. 

The experiences incorporate on-property activities at the resort during lunch breaks, receptions and coffee breaks, such as:

  • Partnering with the resort’s culinary team to prepare the ingredients for a regionally adapted dish for donation to a local hunger relief organization
  • Assembling school supplies and art materials in backpacks for donation to students whose academic success is threatened by poverty
  • Collaborating in teams to assemble emergency preparedness kits for shipping to a disaster relief facility or community organization
  • Designing and creating greetings and birthday cards for children in a local pediatric healthcare facility or children’s organization
  • Impact Hour, a platform for leaders from The Ritz-Carlton non-profit partner organizations to showcase how they are successfully addressing social and environmental issues

Additionally, Signature Impact Experiences are available for groups to participate in during an off-site volunteer activity. These include:

The Forests of the Lake - In cooperation with the Sugar Pine Foundation, group guests can work together to collect pine cones, plant trees and care for saplings in order to help ensure the reforestation of Lake Tahoe’s native sugar pine trees and surrounding woods. 

Protecting the Lake’s Future - With the League to Save Lake Tahoe, group guests can assist in invasive species monitoring, trail restorations, and water-quality improvements.

Westin Milwaukee to Open June 2017

The Westin Milwaukee just celebrated its topping off ceremony ahead of its scheduled June 2017 opening date. 

The 220-room hotel will mark the first Westin property in Milwaukee, and it will have 9,000 square feet of adaptable meeting and event space. It will also have a new Italian Steakhouse restaurant, plus the brand’s signature wellness programs. RunWESTIN offers offers three- and five-mile running routes through scenic and historic neighborhoods with the Hotel’s Run Concierge, and the brand’s Gear Lending program in partnership with New Balance will also be available. 

All of the hotel’s accommodations will have the Westin Heavenly Bed, as well as the brand’s Heavenly Bath, Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe and White Tea Aloe bath amenities.

Now Open: Shade Hotel Redondo Beach

In California, the new Shade Hotel just celebrated its official grand opening. 

The 54-room boutique hotel has a standalone, three-level culinary building that spans 9,034 square feet and includes Sea Level, an upscale seafood restaurant focused on local California cuisine, on the first level. The second level of the building has a grand ballroom with floor to ceiling glass doors opening onto a terrace overlooking the marina and space for events of up to 250 people, and on the third level, a rooftop event space called Sky Level

Also on the property are an open-air rooftop pool and two conference rooms, the Green Room and Blu Room, each with a private lobby and patio with a view of the marina, collectively offering more than 1,500 square feet of event space.

New Sales and Marketing Team at Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach

In Florida, Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, slated to open in January 2017, has announced its sales and marketing team to serve high-end leisure, group and social clients. 

Miguel Diaz will serve as the director of sales and marketing for the new luxury resort, bringing 20 years of hospitality and sales industry experiences from sales director roles at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa; Westin Beach Resort & Spa, Fort Lauderdale; Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel; Marenas Beach Resort & Spa; and Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.

As director of sales and marketing for Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, Diaz will lead all sales, marketing and revenue generation efforts for the resort, as well as helm the resort’s sales, catering and convention services teams, which includes:
