Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel

Renaissance Opens in Atlanta

Marriott International’s Renaissance Hotels brand has announced the grand opening of the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel. Owned and developed by Grove Street Partners, the hotel is connected via SkyTrain to the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel has 6,290 square feet of total event space. The Alpha, Bravo, Foxtrot and Echo meeting rooms alongside the Tango Ballroom make up seven total event rooms. A 3,345 square-foot ballroom provides space for large celebrations and includes a floor-to-ceiling outlook of the Tango Terrace. The non-traditional layout is equipped with lounge-style furnishings and décor that pull in natural elements, neutral tones and wall coverings with a custom mural inspired by the flora and fauna of Atlanta.

The hotel also has two large outdoor spaces, an amenity-driven fitness center, and a bar.

Led by the interior design firm Rottet Studio, with artwork by Atlanta natives Ryan Coleman, Matt Herbermehl and Sarah Emerson, the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel incorporates design elements ranging from a porch swing to digital art projections and a large mural depicting an abstract world map located in the lobby. 11 original murals are found throughout the hotel. A flexible collaboration space with an assortment of seating and drawers that encourage guests to write notes about their travels for other guests to read acts as the property’s business center.

The hotel also has 204 guest rooms, including eight suites, each of which have a custom mural by artist Ryan Coman.

Led by Specialty Chef Blake McDonald, Hickory & Hazel Southern Table and Bar serves Southern cuisine, with dishes ranging from fried green tomato eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits to a 13th Colony BBQ Brisket Sandwich.

The Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel will offer all of Renaissance’s signature brand experiences, including Evenings at Renaissance, where guests can experience the locale through programming including local artist performances, interactive painting, cooking classes and wine tastings, among other experiences. The brand’s signature Bar Ritual will also take flight weekly, bringing travelers together enjoy a complimentary cocktail. The hotel’s Navigators will connect guests with hidden gems and handpicked local discoveries.

Autograph Collection’s Hotel EMC2 Brings 2K Meeting Space to Chicago

The new Hotel EMC2 has opened in downtown Chicago, bringing with it nearly 2,000 square feet of flexible space for meeting planners.

Led by General Manager Christine Wechter, the 21-story, 195-room hotel has two multi-function meeting and event spaces designed to honor Emmy Noether, one of the greatest mathematical minds of all time. The spaces have blackboard-style artwork and installations, as well as installations by British mathematician, musician, author, artist and Scientist in Residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Dr. Eugenia Cheng

The hotel’s interiors were designed by the Rockwell Group, with architecture by KOO, to celebrate art and science. A typographic design greets guests upon arrival featuring the words of legendary Renaissance man Leonardo da Vinci: “Study the science of art. Study the art of science. Develop your senses – learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else.” Elsewhere in the hotel, design elements range from pieces of artwork by nearly a dozen artists that were directly commissioned by the developer, to guestrooms subtly influenced by 1920s laboratories with freestanding bathrooms at the center resembling a “wet lab.” Each room is adorned with rose gold fixtures gramophones that project music from any mobile device.

The hotel’s 120-seat contemporary American restaurant, the Albert (a nod to the scientist), presents seasonal, globally-inspired dishes from Executive Chef Brandon Brumback. Each dish on the opening menu spotlights a specific ingredient not found in any other preparation on the menu. Rebecca Royster, the hotel’s director of food and beverage, created the beverage menu, which celebrates both original and classic cocktails. At the center of the Albert, a custom glass chandelier-like structure known as the “infusary” pours house-made infused liquors. The space also has a 20-seat chef’s table.

Hotel EMC2 is a member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection of boutique hotels.
