Supplier News: New Meeting Venues Worldwide

A number of new meeting spaces lead this week's supplier news in the meetings and events industry.

New Meeting Space at the Hollywood Roosevelt

The Hollywood Roosevelt has added a new meeting and event space and restored others.

The property, which is on Hollywood Boulevard, recently added a new studio space called the White Room. Newly available for private meetings and events, the space is just off the property’s Tropicana Pool & Café, accessible through gardens and palms leading to a set of glass sliding doors. The space has simple, contemporary furnishings and a bright white color scheme. Attendees can also enter through the Joshua Vides hallway, a secret walk-through art installation painted by the urban artist in his signature graphic black and white style.

The Hollywood Roosevelt also recently restored its Blossom Ballroom, a historic space that was the site of the first Academy Awards in 1929.

All told, the property has more than 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, spread across 11 rooms. In addition to the White Room and the Blossom Ballroom, meeting planners can also select from the historic Academy Room, which is the former thinkspace of the Motion Picture Academy. It looks on floor-to-ceiling vistas of Hollywood Boulevard.

Also available: the hotel’s private rooftop deck, another historic space. Located a few hundred feet above Hollywood Boulevard, this 750-square foot space regularly serves as the after party for many Academy Awards ceremonies.

The Hollywood Roosevelt is a landmark boutique hotel with 300 guest rooms. To book meeting planners can visit https://www.thehollywoodroosevelt.com/venues/meetings-events/ or call 323.856.1970.

Two New Event, Dining Spaces From Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection

Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection in Los Cabos, Mexico, has announced two new oceanfront dining and event spaces. This November, the resort will open a new, oceanfront event space called AIRE, as well as the reimagined Cocina del Mar restaurant, bar and lounge.

AIRE is a new, oceanfront event space set atop the edge of the Punta Ballena cliffs with 1,808 square feet of convertible indoor/outdoor space, providing a capacity of up to 250 guests. Designed by Milo Garcia of Los Angeles-based Studio Mai, it has retractable floor-to-ceiling glass walls, allowing event planners to choose between an open-air setting or an enclosed, air-conditioned space. The oceanfront palapa draws design inspiration from its coastal surroundings, with sandy-toned neutrals and cool ocean blues.

Cocina del Mar will likewise be set atop the cliffs, overlooking the resort’s two private beaches. A new menu by Executive Chef Guillermo Gomez will serve seafood with twists on traditional Baja flavors. Guests will enter through a lantern-lit bar and lounge, while the dining space will be set above a series of oceanfront terraces. There will also be an outdoor exhibition kitchen.

Other elements of the new restaurant’s design concept, which was also created by Milo Garcia, draw inspiration from the ocean and seaside culture of Los Cabos, with an earthy palette in the décor, furnishings and table settings. The space will incorporate a number of regional materials, including stone quarried from a nearby mountain top, natural woods such as Parota and Jatoba and handmade textiles. Original tableware pieces were created by local designer Lorna Hankins of La Candelaria, a studio in a small mountain ranch village between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos

Cocina del Mar also offers space for 250 guests, and it can be combined with AIRE for events of up to 500 people.
