A new Hilton hotel near the Colorado Convention Center and a new Rosewood property set to open in Munich lead this week’s supplier news in the meetings and events industry.

Hilton has opened a new hotel near the Colorado Convention Center in Denver

The new Hilton Denver City Center has 613 rooms in a 20-story building, and also offers newly renovated public spaces, guest rooms and dining venues following the completion of a $27 million multi-phased renovation. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by CEO of Visit Denver, Richard Scharf, and Councilman Albus Brooks as well as Tim Benolken, Hilton’s senior vice president of operations for North America.

Towering above the Mile High City, Hilton Denver City Center offers views of the Rocky Mountains and city skyline and is located near main downtown attractions including the Colorado Convention Center, 16th Street Mall, Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Field and Denver Art Museum. The hotel has 581 guest rooms and 32 suites, and expansive, flexible events space aimed at conferences, weddings and receptions.

The hotel is owned by Chesapeake Lodging Trust (NYSE:CHSP) (the “Trust”) of Arlington, VA. Chesapeake Lodging Trust is a self-advised lodging real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on investments primarily in upper-upscale hotels in major business and convention markets and, on a selective basis, premium select-service hotels in urban settings or unique locations in the United States. The Trust owns 21 hotels with an aggregate of 6,472 rooms in eight states and the District of Columbia

Hilton Denver City Center participates in the Hilton Honors guest loyalty program for Hilton's 14 distinct hotel brands. New Rosewood Hotel to Bring Extra Event Space to Munich

A new Rosewood hotel with what's being described as extensive event space is set to open in Munich in early 2023. 

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been appointed by German real estate company Bayerische Hausbau to manage the new Rosewood Munich, which mark the brand’s first property in Germany and seventh property in Europe. The new hotel will have extensive meetings and events spaces that can accommodate a variety of private gatherings, conferences, and special events for up to 400 guests.

Housed in two landmark, historical buildings comprised of the former headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, the hotel will place guests within walking distance of the city’s most popular sites and destinations.

The 132-room hotel, located on the Kardinal-Faulhaber-Strasse, will be just minutes away from attractions like Marienplatz square, the Residenz city palace, Bavarian State Opera, the Maximilian- and Theatinerstrasse shopping districts, as well as famous museums.

The Rosewood Munich will provide guests with a lobby lounge and two different dining venues, which include a full-service restaurant and a bar. The hotel will also have a full-service spa, which will house five treatment rooms, as well as an indoor pool and fitness center.

With the Rosewood Munich, the hotel group adds to its collection of properties in Europe that already includes Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, Rosewood London, and the newly reopened Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel in Paris. Additional upcoming properties in Europe include Rosewood Vienna, Rosewood Edinburgh, and Rosewood Hotel, Grosvenor Square in London.

Overall, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts manages 21 properties in 12 countries, with 16 new hotels under development.
