A number of meeting and event space renovations lead this week's supplier news in the industry.

Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman Reopens With New Event Space

Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman is re-opening after finishing a top-to-bottom renovation. The place of stay has all-new guestrooms, a new meeting space, a fitness center and a trio of new restaurants, including Roy Yamaguchi’s first Caribbean venture, Eating House 1503. It is planning to re-launch in November 2019.

The renovations include all the property’s 285 guestrooms, the addition of more than 8,500 feet of event and meeting space, a new fitness center and a fully recreated culinary program.

To celebrate the reopening, Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman is providing a greater commission (15 percent) on all direct bookings made through March 21, 2019 for travel through December 31, 2019.

The place of stay’s website says it lies on a private cove near Seven Mile Beach with access to activities like diving, snorkeling, paddle-boarding, golfing, swimming with stingrays at the famous Stingray City and more. Margaritaville’s Beach Resort Grand Cayman is situated close to Owen Roberts airport, which has more than 55 direct flights each week from several major cities.

Four Seasons Hotel Miami Redesigns Event Spaces

The Four Seasons Hotel Miami has completed a redesign of its meeting spaces, including the property’s sixth floor function spaces and seventh floor lobby.

The hotel’s main theme and vision transpired throughout the redesign was a mid-century modern look influenced by the ocean that surrounds the resort. The hotel partnered with Rockwell Group, a New York City design firm specializing in hospitality. “We aimed to better define and delineate the spaces and provide lounge areas with a luxurious, high-end residential feel,” said Hilli Wuerz, Rockwell Group, in a written statement.

Sea botanicals, fans, and coral designs on carpets are complimented with muted neutral tones and strong blue hues. Wall treatments are textured with a chic array of light and airy accents throughout the spaces. The hotel’s Grand Ballroom displays hand painted wall treatments by well-renowned artist Maja Romanoff. Custom made furniture includes ceruse pieces with ash and white quartz tops and large sofa furniture with dark, deep tones. The prominent Sky Bridge displays views from all angles and was transformed into an additional function space, rather than a corridor. Fresh carpet, elevated ceilings, and a glamorous light installation by distinguished British designer, Tom Dixion, offers a serene setting for day or evening functions.

Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort to Revamp Meeting Space

The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is set to embark on a revamp of its meeting spaces as part of a top-to-bottom renovation project.

The update will include the property’s 40,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, which includes several ballroom options and 10,000 square feet of outdoor event space overlooking the beach and the Intracoastal Waterway.

The move follows the completion of updates to the resort’s 432 guestrooms and suites, as well as its common areas, plus the addition of the new Lona Cocina Tequileria restaurant.

The guestrooms now have decor that aims to reflect the blue waters of Fort Lauderdale Beach, as well as upgraded lighting and furniture, new bedding, and updated flooring. The rooms also have floor to ceiling windows, Juliet balconies and in-room refrigerators. In the hotel’s renovated bathrooms, guests will enjoy the Heavenly Bath, enhanced with the brand’s Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe, and White Tea Aloe bath amenities. Six guest rooms come equipped with a Peloton bike.

The new Lona Cocina Tequileria by Chef Pablo Salas serves Mexican cuisine, and it has a large patio overlooking the ocean.

Other on-property amenities include the Heavenly Spa and the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio.
