Iceland, Japan and Cambodia are welcoming a trio of new and returning properties within the next year. Iceland will see the addition of the Lava Cove and Moss Hotel, while Japan is expected to open the Conrad Osaka in summer 2017. More recently, Cambodia’s all-suite Anantara Anghkor Resort has reopened after undergoing extensive renovations.

Lava Cove and Moss Hotel, Iceland

Opening in fall 2017, the Lava Cove and Moss Hotel combines a “subterranean spa” experience with luxury hotel accommodations situated on Iceland’s renowned Blue Lagoon. The hotel will have a collection of 62 rooms and suites including, The Moss Room, Moss Suite, Lagoon Suite and Blue Lagoon Suite, each offering floor-to-ceiling windows. For a lavish stay, the Blue Lagoon Suite offer guests multi-story accommodations and private balconies with private access to the Lava Lagoon.

Guests will also have access to the Lava Cove Spa, an underground spa with a lava-rock-heated steam room, a firepit and sauna. To quote the hotel’s website, the Lava Cove is “built into an 800-year-old lava flow on the south shore of the Blue Lagoon” – tapping into the “same volcanic aquifer of geothermal seawater as the Blue Lagoon.”

No information on the property's meeting and event spaces was available as of press time.

Conrad Osaka, Japan

Opening summer 2017, Conrad Osaka will take over the top seven floors of the Nakanoshima Festival Tower West in Osaka’s business district. The new hotel will have 164 rooms, all-day dining, a health club, spa and an indoor pool.

Conrad Osaka will also offer 680-square-meters of meeting space and event facilities. The facilities include two ballrooms which can each accompany up to 200 people, a boardroom and three meeting rooms. The hotel also offers an onsite chapel on the 39th floor named Clouds Wedding. Guests can host wedding receptions in one of the two available ballrooms.

Anantara Angkor Resort, Cambodia

The all-suite resort has recently reopened after undergoing extensive renovations to the suites, restaurants and common areas. Each of the 39 suites has been completely upgraded and is now accented with teak wood trimmings, balconies and large living spaces.

The Anantara Angkor Resort offers three different meeting and event venues, the Chi Restaurant and Bar with a maximum capacity of 90 guests, the L Lounge with a maximum capacity of 30 guests and the Conference Room with a maximum capacity of 25 guests. Cocktail gatherings can also be held in the hotel’s gallery, courtyard and pool terrace, holding 40, 80, and 80 guests respectively.
