UK destination secures meetings accreditation

NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau has recently gained the Meetings Industry Association AIM accreditation.

“The fact that the quality of our service has been recognised by a major industry association is a great boost,” said Jessica Roberts, the bureau’s head of business tourism. “This accreditation serves to demonstrate our aim to provide an excellent, impartial and free service to conference organisers, agents and business leaders.”

To become a member of the MIA, all venues and suppliers must meet the requirements of AIM entry level.

“Congratulations to the team at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau,” said MIA Chief Executive Jane Evans. “During tough trading conditions every marketing advantage helps and with this award NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau has assured itself a deserved place at the very top of every procurement list.

“It is more important than ever that venues and suppliers take advantage of the credibility the MIA’s AIM scheme offers in making their businesses a cut above the rest.”
