Starwood announces incentive for planners

Meeting and event planners will be able to earn triple Starpoints and a possible booking bonus of 1,000 points when booking at a range of Starwood Hotels & Resorts properties across the Asia Pacific region.
Valid for meetings held between November 2010 to mid-February 2011, those enrolled in the Starwood Preferred Planner programme will  receive a booking bonus of 1,000 points for every 25 rooms booked, given at the time of booking.  Additionally, meeting planners can earn triple Starpoints with no limit, so the larger the group and rooms booked the more points are earned.
“This is a fantastic offer for meeting and event planners enrolled in our preferred planner scheme,” said Alison Taylor, vice president of sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific.  “This incentive can both lower the cost for future meetings as well as earn planners an exciting personal stay choosing from one of our 1,000 properties worldwide.”

As a further incentive, meeting and event planners that book prior to 31 December 2010 will earn a two-night stay at any new Starwood Asia Pacific hotel (opening dates between October 2009 and December 2010).

Starpoints may be used as meeting credits for future meetings.  The first 15,000 Starpoints are worth a $200 credit, with each additional 7,500 Starpoints worth a US$150 credit.
