London venue introduces green car service for delegates

The Brewery has reviewed its corporate social responsibility policies (CSR) in response to corporate demand.

It is encouraging its guests to make the most of its location and arrive by foot. In partnership with www.walkit.com, routes can be easily sourced from all corners of the capital.

What’s more, rather than key note speakers and chief executives arriving in their chauffeur-driven gas guzzlers, the Brewery is putting the onus on corporates and offering a complementary pick up with a Green Tomato Cars. The service ensures that from the very outset of the event, an example is set from the top. Using Toyota Priuses, Green Tomato Cars offset double the amount of their carbon emissions thereby providing an environmentally friendly car service.

Other green initiatives carried out include installing energy efficient light bulbs throughout the building and a low water-volume dishwasher as well as taking the paperless route by introducing online e-brochures.

The venue also recently announced the appointment of Emma Wellman, as sustainability advisor, who will be on hand working with clients who want to make their events as sustainable as possible.
