New Small Event Venues Open Across the United States

Over the past month, a host of new small venues have opened in the United States.

Early this month, Sonesta expanded to the West Coast with the opening of the Sonesta Silicon Valley

The 236-room hotel in the San Jose / Santa Clara area has 4,400 square feet of flexible meeting space accommodating social and business gatherings for up to 200 guests. Six available meeting and event spaces and a dedicated convention services and catering team are available to handle all details. Audio-visual equipment and services are also available on-site.

Other amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, outdoor firepit, fitness center, 24-hour business center, complimentary shuttle service, complimentary parking and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi. The hotel’s on-site restaurant, Brandon’s Restaurant & Grill, serves locally-inspired cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and in-room dining is also available. 

The hotel is 40 miles south of downtown San Francisco, five minutes from the San Jose International Airport and near the headquarters of Cisco, Intel, Apple, Hewlett Packard and Google

Ithaca Marriott Downtown

On the opposite coast, the Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons opened December 12. 

The 159-room hotel has more than 2,300 square feet of flexible meeting space, including three meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Commons, and planning, catering and audiovisual services. The largest venue, the Gorges Ballroom, will accommodate up to 175.

The hotel is on Aurora Street, billed as Ithaca’s “Restaurant Row,” and two miles from Cayuga Lake, the longest of the Finger Lakes. There is also an indoor-outdoor restaurant and fitness center, as well as a complimentary shuttle to nearby Cornell University, Ithaca College and Tompkins Regional Airport (ITH).

Hyatt Centric Arlington

In Rosslyn, VA, the new Hyatt Centric Arlington has opened following a renovation and rebranding. It was formerly the Hyatt Arlington

The first hotel in Hyatt’s boutique Centric brand near Washington, DC, the hotel has over 7,300 square feet of fully renovated meetings and events space with new lighting, bright wall coverings, carpet and a sound system. The space includes both modular breakout spaces and pre-function rooms. 

In addition to 318 guest rooms, including 12 PURE hypoallergenic rooms, the hotel also has an original dining experience, the Key Bridge Terrace, spotlighting local cuisine and craft cocktails. Guests can also enjoy Starbucks and grab and go food from the Key Bridge Terrace. 

Element Chandler Fashion Center

In Arizona, Element Hotels' first property in the state, the Element Chandler Fashion Center in Phoenix, has also opened, with 107 guest rooms and 600 square feet of meeting space. 

The hotel’s meeting space includes a flexible layout, a 50” flat-panel TV and complimentary Wi-Fi, and it has space for up to 50 people for a theater-style event. 

Other hotel amenities include the RESTORE gourmet pantry, a Bikes to Borrow program, a 24-hour fitness center, a heated outdoor swimming pool and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property. The hotel is 10 minutes from Wild Horse Pass, 20 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and less than 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix and Arizona State University. Nearby space and technology businesses along the Price Road corridor include Intel, Orbital Sciences Corporation, Space Data and Boeing Iridium Satellite.

Four Points Cleveland Airport /h2>

Finally, Cleveland just got its own first hotel from Marriott’s Four Points brand, the Four Points Cleveland Airport

This hotel has 6,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as 147 guest rooms, an indoor heated pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a business center, and fast and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. 

For dining, guests can check out the Best Brews and BBQ, which focuses on local beers and seasonal BBQ-style appetizers. The hotel is also close to Progressive Field, FirstEnergy Stadium (Home of the Cleveland Browns), the University of Cleveland and the shops, restaurants and entertainment in The Flats.

Coming Soon: DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square West

Looking ahead, on January 17, 2017, Hilton will open the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square West, just steps from the city’s theatre district. 

The 612 room property, on the southwest corner of Times Square, will offer a 1,000 square foot conference room that can accommodate up to 15 people, as well as two food and beverage venues: Magnolia Restaurant and Lovage Rooftop Lounge. Magnolia Restaurant, the hotel’s onsite restaurant located on the ground floor, will serve American bistro fare, and is helmed by award winning executive chef Brian Pancir. Magnolia offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Lovage rooftop lounge is heated and glass-enclosed so that guests can enjoy its unobstructed views year-round.  Lovage offers a specialty cocktail menu, appetizers and light bites, and top shelf bottle service.  

Other amenities include a 40-inch HDTV, premium cable, coffee maker, a well-equipped workspace, and blackout curtains in the guest rooms, as well as a 24-hour business center and complimentary fitness center. The hotel is also pet friendly.
