UK: IMEX Organiser Sees Profits Soar 62 Percent to £4.4 Million

IMEX organiser Regent Exhibitions has recorded pre-tax profits of £4.4 million – a £1.7m increase on figures for the previous 12 months.

The Brighton-based company saw turnover rise to £22m from £20.3m in 2013, while administrative expenses fell £300k to £4.8m, resulting in an operating profit of £4.3m (£2.6m in 2013). Profit before tax for the year was £4.4m – 62 per cent up on 2013. 

Chairman Ray Bloom said in his director’s report that both IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America were hitting key performance indicators, with Frankfurt attracting 3,500 exhibiting companies and 8,883 visitors, and Las Vegas featuring 2,900 exhibitors and 4,818 visitors in 2014.

“IMEX America 2014 was 13 per cent larger than the prior year with 8 per cent more exhibiting companies,” he said. “The hosted buyer programme was increased to match. The exhibition is expected to have further growth in 2015.”
