UK: Turnover at CH&Co Passes £100m
Turnover at catering group CH&Co has surpassed £100 million for the first time. The company recorded £111m for the year ended 31 March 2014 – an increase of 18 per cent on 2013.
The revenue has been generated via six specialist branded businesses. These include Chester Boyd, which provides event catering at eight London livery halls; Ampersand, which caters at attractions such as Historic Royal Palaces and ZSL London Zoo; and City of London venue finding company, It's The Agency (ITA*).The turnover excludes that of the coffee chain Apostrophe in which CH&Co previously held a 50 per cent stake and that it bought outright in April.
Chairman Tim Jones said a series of large contract wins and the full year benefit of contracts opened in the prior year drove the majority of this increase in turnover. The Business and Industry (B&I) side of the business performed particularly well, with CH&Co contracted to provide employee catering for 12 companies during the year, including Centrica British Gas. It also added three new venue catering contracts.
