UK: Survey Shows Corporate Event Bookers Want the Personal Touch
Corporate event bookers want the personal touch, a new survey from Late Night London Meetings and Events has reported.
The consortium of 18 London venues catering for meetings, corporate and Christmas parties polled in-house event coordinators, executives and personal assistants on key factors of the event planning process.
And loyalty to intermediary event agencies was a common theme: 31 per cent of respondents reported a long standing relationship with a particular agency they would not look to change, while 68 per cent of those working with an agency would only look to change agency if and when required, rather than shopping around for each event.
The extensive knowledge gained by using an events agency is the primary driver for 45 per cent of respondents, while 31 per cent of those polled put their faith in agencies’ planning and management expertise.
Almost three quarters (72 per cent) agreed that Christmas party packages and themed parties still have value, with 45 per cent stating that price was the most important factor when booking a Christmas venue. Location was also high on the list of priorities, while personal relationships and a solid track record were noted as the most influential aspects when selecting suppliers, with 42 per cent of the poll.
