UK: MPI Vanessa Cotton Scholarship to Recognize Top Event Students
This year’s MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Vanessa Cotton Scholarship is now open for entries.
Founded to recognise and support the industry’s brightest and most ambitious event management students as they take their first step in the meetings and events industry, the scholarship is now in its fourth year. At least one recipient will be sent on an all-expenses-paid trip to EMEC, the MPI European Meetings and Events Conference in Krakow in February.
Sponsored by ExCeL London and Reed Travel Exhibitions, the scholarship was created in honour of late UK event industry veteran Vanessa Cotton, and this year’s judging panel includes Astra Zeneca’s Robert Quayle, Zibrant MD Fay Sharpe, Viki Stapleton from Schroders, and Karen Walters from Eventful Connection.
“Vanessa was one of the founder members of the UK and Ireland Chapter of MPI,” said Jane Baker, VP of education for the MPI UK&I Chapter. “The scholarship is a unique opportunity to empower student members who have the drive and passion to make their mark in the events industry. In Vanessa's memory we are rewarding a student who has demonstrated outstanding communication skills and a strong desire for personal development. We will be announcing the winner of the scholarship at EIBTM.”
