UK: The Meetings Show Looks to Boost Buyer Numbers
The Meetings Show has kicked off a drive to find more UK buyers for its 2015 edition.
Last month the show’s new-look advisory board met to review the 2014 edition and consider the post-show feedback from its 3,000 visitors.
And show director Steve Knight, from Centaur Exhibitions, told meetpie.com the board's members had asked his team to focus on UK buyers for next year's show, which will be The Meetings Show's third incarnation.
"We have got a mix of both buyers and suppliers and others on the board, but they all really want us to focus on UK buyers. That was the key message and I think it is good because it shows there is still a lot of interest in our market," he said.
The 2014 show welcomed 721 hosted buyers, a 62 per cent increase on the previous year; of these, there was an 84 per cent rise in the number of UK-based buyers.
