UK: Event Marketing Association to Add New Members' Fee
The Event Marketing Association (EMA), formerly COPE-UK, is to introduce a fee in January for its membership of in-house events marketing executives.
Chairman Richard Waddington said in a letter to members the association has been working hard in the past year to increase membership and become an industry voice, with regular monthly events as well as a new website to be launched this month.
"Our objective is to maintain the momentum we have created," he said of the EMA's plans for 2015. "We aim to grow our membership, increase activities and engage a student to support EMA administration and member communications. We also intend to expand our representation and voice across the industry.
"All of these activities need funding and, as such, we will be looking to charge a small annual membership fee from January."
The association is considering charging £75 for individual membership, and between £200 and £600 for corporate membership, depending on the number of members registered. Charities will receive a 50 per cent discount.
