UK: ABPCO Shakes Up Board to Reflect New In-House Planner Membership
The increase of in-house conference planner membership of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is reflected in the make-up of its new board.
A record number of the ABPCO membership, 91 per cent, voted for the new board which will be jointly chaired by agency and in-house association representatives.
Caroline Windsor, key account director at TFI Meeting Point, and Royal Society of Medicine head of events Nicole Leida will lead the organisation from January. The board’s buyer/supplier mix also includes Rose Padmore from Opening Doors & Venues, Sue Etherington from The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, and Sandra Eyre from Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool.
Outgoing chair Jennifer Jenkins said: “Our new board includes a wide range of individuals from both the supply and demand side of the industry and accurately reflects the balance of our membership, particularly the increase we have seen recently from in-house PCOs working in the association sector.
