Rubgy World Cup boosts Twickenham Experience

Enquiries about holding events at Twickenham Stadium in West London have risen notably during the 2007 IRB Rugby World Cup, which was won by South Africa on Saturday during a nail-biting final with England.
The ups and downs of the England team during the tournament in France appear to have had a positive effect on the home of England Rugby and the world’s largest dedicated rugby stadium, which has become an increasingly popular venue choice for organisers looking to create their own successful event.
“We are delighted with the number of clients wanting to hold their events at Twickenham,” said Kevin Maxwell, sales and marketing director of Twickenham Experience, the official provider of conference and banqueting at the stadium. “The success of the England Rugby team has certainly generated a lot of excitement and is definitely a major factor in the rise. Twickenham Stadium is an iconic venue and one that people recognise as offering excellent event facilities and services.”

Enquiries are expected to rise further in the coming months with the Christmas party season approaching, along with the development of the new South Stand, set to be completed during Autumn 2008, accommodating an additional 5,000 square metres of conference and exhibition space, and the opening of a four-star Marriot hotel.
