Principal Hayley adds luxury hotel to UK conference and events venue




The development of the Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor, Berkshire will add additional conference facilities and a luxury hotel to the original Beaumont House venue.

The £8.1 million project was started earlier this year by hotel and conference group Principal Hayley to redevelop the White House into a luxury hotel. As part of the project, a 19th century chapel, which was originally part of the St Stanislaus College has also been uncovered. It was previously boarded up and Principal Hayley has embarked on an ambitious plan to restore the chapel and re-launch it as a unique private dining and banqueting room.

The total refurbishment and restoration programme is due to complete in November and Principal Hayley claim it will “solidify Beaumont’s position as one of the largest conference venues in Europe”.

It will offer three distinct areas that will make up the newly created Beaumont Estate
– Beaumont House
– White House Hotel and Chapel
– The Village

“Beaumont House has long been considered one of the leading conference and events venues in the UK,” said Ian Peck, general manager of the estate. “The creation of the Beaumont Estate brings a whole range of conference and leisure facilities under one banner, creating two distinct offerings for the conference delegate: the extensive Beaumont House conference venue and a deluxe hotel with executive meeting rooms.”

The White House, a wing of the estate with a distinguishable portico and columns built in 1790, will include 10 luxury suites, each costing nearly £100,000 to create, furnished with plasma TVs, iPod docking stations, roll-top baths and sumptuous furnishings.

An additional 16 premium deluxe bedrooms are being developed and a further 42 deluxe bedrooms and 16 duplex bedrooms have been added in the wing adjacent to the White House, creating a brand new 84 bedroom hotel.

A fine-dining restaurant with a well-stocked wine cellar will serve a selection of English and International cuisine, while an elegant private dining area will be available for those looking to host an exclusive party.

Beaumont House – the original conference and events venue – currently has 330 bedrooms, 75 meeting rooms, restaurant, lounge and bar, aspects of which have also benefited from the investment. It also has 40 acres of landscaped grounds, which will undergo an extensive makeover.

Meanwhile, the newly named Village will feature four state-of-the-art self-contained meeting and training spaces able to accommodate up to 220 delegates. The rooms have been designed with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment, lighting and technology.
