PRESS RELEASE : Early start at Wine REPublic for launch of Jazz Festival

Bar and restaurant Wine REPublic will open for business bright and early on Friday 6 June, after being selected as the launch site for the 23rd Birmingham International Jazz Festival.

The Centenary Square venue, located in the Rep theatre, will serve a breakfast from 8.00am, with guests able to choose from a menu that includes smoked salmon, scallops, ham and gruyere croissants, and fruit smoothies.

Entertainment for the launch will be provided by legendary saxophonist and jazz heavyweight Herb Gellar, and Leicester-based Dixieland fun band Fidgety Feet, who will be appearing throughout the festival.

Glen Staniforth, Catering Manager, Wine REPublic, said:  “This is a really inspirational, international festival and we are very pleased that Wine REPublic has been chosen as the hub of the event.”

“With our mix of friendly staff, central location and mouth-watering menu, we are in an ideal position to welcome visitors both to the jazz festival and to Birmingham.  This is the perfect place for people to come and meet, greet, eat and pick up festival information on what promises to be an outstanding event.”

Running until Sunday 15 July, the festival makes the most of spaces all around Birmingham city centre, including the Bullring, the Mailbox, and the Chamberlain Square beach.

Wine REPublic is managed by The NEC Group.
