Major associations join forces to educate UK events industry

Meetings and events industry associations MPI and Eventia have teamed up to run an educational and networking event on 5 March entitled: ‘Myths, Lies & Management …5 simple truths that will re-energise, refocus and transform your business'.

The evening will be sponsored by Toronto Tourism and hosted by Canada House, Trafalgar Square. There will be a variety of prizes given away during the night, including return Air Canada flights to Toronto and a week’s accommodation in the city.

The event will be headlined by Donald Cooper, a Toronto-based business speaker and management expert who will focus debunking the following five business myths:

– Every business needs goals, targets, aims and objectives
– There's no such thing as customer loyalty anymore
– It's all about price today
– You can't get good staff anymore
– There's no point having a 3 to 5 year plan ... the future is just too uncertain

Commenting on the event, MPI sponsorship chairman and Real Recruitment senior consultant Samme Vickers said: “It is the perfect mixture of networking and education. The speaker is world renowned and we are above all thankful to Toronto Tourism, who has been exceedingly generous. We look forward to learning a great deal more about their destination, whilst enjoying their hospitality.”

Entrance is free to all MPI and Eventia members and £20 to non-members.
