Karen Tocher, business tourism manager of Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau, said: “Dundee is well known for being a city which is committed to technology.  In particular the University of Dundee has a strong reputation in developing computer systems for users with special needs, increasing the accessibility of digital media, and widening participation in higher education.  The ITiCSE conference which is being hosted by the University of Dundee will provide an important boost to the Dundee economy.”
Joe Morrow, convener of Dundee City Council's economic development committee, addede: “"With more than 200 delegates expected to come to Dundee from around 27 different locations across the globe for this prestigious event, the city will once again be in the shop window to an important new audience.
"International business tourism events such as this not only boost Dundee's economy at the time, but promise revenue later with repeat visits by delegates coming back as private tourists."
