Charity hijacks Abbey Road for pop auction

Cancer Research UK is holding its annual charity fundraising event on 28 February with the aim of beating the £130,000 raised last year.

Entitled Sound & Vision, the event is to be held at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, where the Beatles recorded their albums, and features an auction of historical pop art and memorabilia. As in previous years, guests will include a mix of corporate delegates and celebrities, while a number of bands, DJs and musicians, including The Brand New Heavies, will perform.
Drive Productions is handling the creative elements of the event, including artwork display, a bespoke rock-inspired auction area and a rock‘n’roll exhibition featuring photography, art and memorabilia.
The founder and director of the company, Ben Fender, commented: “Sound & Vision is a prestigious event in the music industry’s calendar, so we were thrilled to be asked to handle the creative elements of this important night for a third year. We will create a visual spectacular allowing guests to view the artwork while being able to bid at the same time using interactive handheld technology. This auction offers a prime opportunity to acquire a piece of rock history in a venue synonymous with the very essence of music.”
