Businesses party into January

An increasing number of companies in England’s South East are organising ‘Christmas’ parties after the festive season, according to party organiser Best Parties Ever.

“Year-end workloads mean that some companies have no time for a party before Christmas,” explained the agency’s managing director Tim Stevens. “Others like to give staff something to look forward to in January. Whatever the reason, we are already receiving bookings.”

The New Year also gives companies the chance to avoid the hyped pre-Christmas prices, allowing them to put on a more impressive event for their employees for the same money.

For example, capitalising on this New Year interest, Best Parties Ever is hosting a Cuban extravaganza throughout January. The company’s ‘Hot in Havana’ nights will be held at Thorpe Park’s semi-permanent Lakeside Suite in West London, from 6 January to 3 February. Partygoers arriving at the popular theme park will find themselves in a street party in the heart of Cuba, where the roads are cruised by classic American cars of the 1950s and 1960s. Samba drummers, limbo and salsa dancers will set the scene as guests are invited into Club Havana for a mojito at the bar.

The passion of live Cuban music will accompany a four-course dinner, before it is time for partygoers to try their luck at the casino or dance to the hypnotic rhythms until the Tequila Girls lead them to an energetic, acrobatic Limbo Dance final.

Suddenly January doesn’t seem quite such a post-festive season come down…
