Biggs leaves eBay for experiential agency

Out of the Blue Communications, the strategic marketing agency specialising in experiential and events, has lured Victoria Biggs from her role as director of public relations at eBay UK.

Revealing the rising status of experiential marketing in the media world, Biggs moves from online into live events, joining Out of the Blue as business director.

The newly created role will see Biggs spearhead the growth of the agency’s client offering. Taking the business and marketing skills she has acquired during her three years at eBay and seven years at public relations agency Freud Communications, she will be responsible for campaign strategy and planning, and the delivery of integrated campaign solutions.

Biggs will join Kerstin Shields, Out of the Blue’s founder and chief executive, and creative director Nigel Scott in heading up the 25-strong team dedicated to converting consumer insight into engaging brand experiences. The agency’s current roster of brand clients includes London Unlimited, Unilever, Debenhams, AOL, Daily Telegraph, Moet, Amnesty International and the BBC.

Commenting on her impending move, which is due to officially take place on Monday (26 March), Biggs said: “At this stage in my career and Out of the Blue’s development, it’s the right time to take the marketing and business skills I’ve acquired during my time at eBay, and to apply them to this dynamic growth area of the marketing industry.”

Meanwhile a delighted Shields said: “In the past 12 months, Out of the Blue has doubled in size, both in terms of client base and turnover. At this stage of the agency’s development, we want to provide an increased offering to our clients, with a greater emphasis on strategic thinking and planning. Having worked with Victoria for almost 10 years, and with her experience on both agency and client side, we are confident she fits the bill.”
