Venue Preview: JW Marriott Nashville

jw marriott nashville ballroom

JW Marriott Nashville, the 533-key luxury hotel slated to open in 2018, has unveiled the design concept for its public spaces, guest rooms and conference and event facilities.

Led by design firm, Stonehill & Taylor, the hotel’s modern interiors aim to exude a masculine aesthetic with rich color schemes and subtle nods to the city’s industrial past. The 33-story hotel is located across from The Music City Center in the heart of downtown.

The hotel’s two ballrooms, encompassing over 25,000 square feet of meeting space, are outfitted with a custom carpet reminiscent of Nashville’s rapidly developing skyline and caged lighting. The 16 meeting rooms and two permanent boardrooms all have views of the city with an abundance of natural light.

Upon arrival, visitors enter into a patterned wood “firefly box” illuminated by a collection of delicate bulbs suspended from the ceiling. A custom Portoro marble fireplace flanked by bronze screens soaring to a height of 17 feet invites guests to unwind, while refined floor tapestries are meant to exude a relaxed and residential feel. The hotel will be home to over 100 pieces of contemporary art that pay homage to the musical history of Nashville, creating vibrant pops of color against Zebrino polished marble floors and Kenya black honed marble reception desks. A custom, blonde wood multi-use activity table anchors the lobby and offers guests a place to interact, work and host small social gatherings.

The library is located just beyond the hotel’s main entrance and has a curved, 30-foot oak wood bookshelf that serves as the focal point of the room. Leather upholstered niches nestled between blackened steel and ribbed bronze frames offer places for guests to read. The adjacent bar and lounge has a circular fireplace, velvet banquets and a glossy black bar with eye-catching mirror details, where guests can relax while enjoying a selection of over 1,000 wines and premium cigars.

The sleek, minimalistic design of the hotel’s public spaces is also present in each of the guest rooms and suites.  Each room combines pale wood paneling with pops of regal blue tones and black steel finishes. Tailored lines and modern furniture guide the eye directly to the floor-to-ceiling windows, revealing views of Nashville’s landmarks.

Elsewhere on the property guests can enjoy the spa and a pool area with private cabanas and a stone-encased fire pit. There is also an on-property fitness center and retail space.
