PCMA: Salary Growth Slows for Meeting Planners

Meeting planners got smaller pay raises versus last year, according to a new survey from PCMA’s Convene magazine. The 2016 Salary Survey was completed by more than 400 association, corporate and independent meeting professionals in March.

According to the survey, the average salary for respondents is $80,505. Those with the CMP designation earned on average $85,052, about $8,500 more per year than those without a CMP.

The average pay increase in this year’s survey, at 4.35 percent, was several points lower than the 7 percent average raise meeting professionals said they received in last year’s survey. Even so, only one-third expressed dissatisfaction with their compensation.
