What Cities and Countries Pay Event Planners the Most?

New research has shown UK event coordinators earn an average salary of $30,204 (£19,819), making them the fourth lowest-paid out of the 11 countries surveyed.

As IMR partner MeetPie reported, UK directors of events are earning on average $69,708, the third highest figure in the survey behind Australia at $70,605 (£46,330) and Germany at $72,679 (£47,691).

The findings were published in the Salaries in the Event Industry report, carried out by event sponsorship platform SponsorMyEvent.

The report also reveals a salary gap within the UK, with event managers in London earning an average of $53,256, compared to $34,272 in Birmingham. Manchester was the second ranking city in the UK, with an average event manager salary of $45,659.

In the US, San Francisco and New York were the two highest-paying cities for event manager salaries, coming in at $60,652 and $53,418, respectively. 

Globally, Italy pays the highest event coordinator wage, at $45,844. 

According to the report, UK event planners are paid an average of $35,512, placed fourth behind the Canada, Australia and the top-placed US, where planners earn an average of $43,988.
