Portugal: Ryanair Adds New Routes

Cologne and Copenhagen will be connected to Porto through Ryanair. The announcement was made by Michael O'Leary at a press conference. Also, the frequency of flights between Lisbon and Oporto rises to three a day.

Germany and Scandinavia are two priority markets for tourism to the city of Porto. Ryanair CEO praised the city and its t ourisminstitutions, hoping to continue in the passenger growth path. In 2014, Ryanair carried to and from Porto 2.5 million people and by the end of 2015 the number will reach 3.2 million.

Ryanair is currently the second airline in Portugal in terms of market share, second only to TAP. In the coming years, O'Leary believes that Ryanair "will surpass TAP".

Ryanair also announced that it will invest in a new website, online from next October in mobile platforms and in redecorating the aircrafts. The company now has 85 routes in Portugal.
