Portugal: Portugal Climbs Up the ICCA Ranking

In terms of countries, there is good news for Portugal. The country has climbed three positions and now occupies the 12th position in a ranking led by the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom. Portugal has hosted 278 events.

portugalLisbon is back at the top ten of the world’s top association meetings cities, with 145 events. The Portuguese capital rises to the 9th place, from the 12th position in 2014. Portugal’s second city, Porto, consistently grows every year, and 2015 was no exception. The city is currently at the 42th place. Close to Lisbon, the city of Cascais has climbed 59 places, from 192 to 133. There are other Portuguese destinations on the list: Aveiro (7 meetings), Braga, Coimbra, Funchal and Portimão (5), Azores (4), Faro (3), Costa da Caparica, Guimarães and Ponte de Lima (2). With one meeting each are Bragança, Covilhã, Évora, Figueira da Foz, Vila Nova de Gaia, Guarda, Lagos, Monte Gordo, Murtosa, Peniche, Setúbal, Tróia, Vila Nova de Cerveira and Vila Real.

The cities ranking is led by Berlin, Paris and Barcelona.
