In partnership with:

A few days before the World Cup Football 2014 began, more has been disclosed about the contents of the event’s opening and closing ceremonies. The Portuguese company Impossible Factory-Worldwide Entertainment Productions is responsible for the creation and artistic production of both shows.

The opening took place today Itaquerão, São Paulo, and the closing will be in Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro, on 13th July.

"The World Cup opening show is a tribute to Brazil and its treasures: nature, people and football. Its main element is a led ball and it will feature acrobatic and trampoline gymnasts and capoeira performers, in a total of 600 dancers, who for 25 minutes will exalt the magic of football”, said Daphné Cornez, artistic director and creative writer for Impossible Factory.

Impossible Factory is a Portuguese company specialized in mega artistic productions and public ceremonies, created by the same founders of Tavolanostra Eventos Globais, João Garrido da Costa and António Oliveira Santos, and Fabrice Bollen. The company was established in 2011. Fabrice Bollen is the CEO and Daphne Cornez the artistic director, who signs the original concepts of both the opening and closing World Cup Football 2014 ceremonies.

Daphné Cornez was the artistic director of events such as the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal official ceremony, a co-production between Tavolanostra and the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group, the "China - Belgium 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties", held in Beijing in 2011. Recently, she has been invited to assume the artistic direction of the closing ceremony of Mons European Capital of Culture 2015. Fabrice Bollen has been involved in David Bowie and Daft Punk international tours and in events such as the 85th Anniversary of Moscow, the opening ceremony of the South American Games and the opening show of Liège Train Station, designed by Santiago Calatrava.

Impossible Factory-Worldwide Entertainment Productions initially joined the Brazil World Cup project in association with the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group, having meantime been invited by the executive official producer, Brazilian Team Spirit, to lead the creation and artistic production of the ceremonies.
