VIDEO: PCMA Continues Global Connections Through Best Cities and Dubai

More than 4,500 professional convention managers are set to attend Convening Leaders 2015 in Chicago next month. An increasing number of those delegates are concerned with expanding through events and education beyond the North American beltway.

This trend is reflected with PCMA's expanded international outreach via partnerships with organizations and events worldwide in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. One such partnership, centered on access to PCMA education, was announced at the event last year with SACEOS (Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers) providing concurrent access to to Asian PCOs and Suppliers within the Asian gateway.

Continuing that trend, PCMA has solidified with further strategic affiliations. This year, the Association announced two key global partnerships – one with the Best Cities Alliance, providing access to 11 leading cities across five continents; the other with the Dubai Association Centre, where international associations can drop anchor in a strategic location supported by government incentives.

The latter partnership is of particular importance for both PCMA and Dubai: The Emirate is aiming to become a hub for international and local associations, and with a burgeoning MICE industry establishing a solid foothold in the region, PCMA will be available to deliver professional education. As part of the agreement, Dubai will host a Dubai-PCMA Meetings Forum in 2015 for around 25 international meeting planners.

With further partnerships already in place in Colombia and Oman, PCMA is creating a global network of locations where its members can gain access to local support in order to mitigate risk, embrace local cultures, and avoid the pitfalls that may lie in wait, and where the local associations and suppliers can gain access to the world`s leading professional education in the sector while connecting with international associations reaching out from the PCMA membership.
