Two new hotels are set to open in the kingdom in coming months, bringing to market thousands of rooms, while Millennium will also soon debut its new mid-scale brand M Hotels in the country.

Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi, President and CEO, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels MEA, said: “We have significant expansion plans during 2015, with a pipeline of new openings across the region, including the introduction of several new brands.

“We have recently made our debut in Saudi Arabia with the opening of Millennium Taiba Hotel and Millennium Al Aqeeq Hotel in Madinah. We are committed to developing our brand presence across the kingdom and have an active pipeline of hotels opening that extends across our entire brand portfolio.

“With up to 20 high-profile properties set to open within the next five years, KSA is integral to the success of our regional expansion programme.

”Next to open in the kingdom will be Millennium Hotel Hail, a 191-room five-star property situated opposite Hail Economic city and just 20 minutes from the airport by car.

The opening will be closely followed by the introduction to the country, and region, of Millennium & Copthorne’s mid-scale brand, M Hotel Makkah by Millennium set to open in Makkah during Q3, 2015.

“We have plans to open over 7,000 rooms in Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina and Makkah, as well as important second-tier cities such as Hayel, Jizan, Tabouk and
Baha,” said Alzaabi.

He added: “We will also be introducing the Studio M concept to the region in 2015, offering guests designer chic with a contemporary functionality at an affordable price.”

Among the 20 Millennium launches scheduled is the much-anticipated opening of Bab Al Qasr in Abu Dhabi. Opening later this year, the 677-room five-star property will be located in the capital’s Corniche area, close to the Presidential Palace. Set to be one of the city’s biggest hotels, it will feature a private beach, ballroom, spa and health club.
