Middle East: Katara supports Qatar’s Expo 2015 efforts

Katara Hospitality has been announced as the official hospitality partner for the Qatar Pavilion Committee during Expo Milan 2015.

The expo, which takes place from 1 May to 31 October 2015, will feature 144 participating countries and is expected to attract 24 million visitors.

Katara Hospitality will extend its support by offering hospitality-related services and facilities at its recently re-opened Milan hotel – the Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan. The hotel, which originally opened its doors in 1932 has since been fully renovated by renowned Milanese architect Marco Piva and features 235 guest rooms and suites, luxurious facilities and impressive meeting and event spaces. 

HE Sultan Bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and Chairman of Qatar Pavilion – Expo 2015 said: "We are pleased to announce Katara Hospitality as an official partner of Qatar Pavilion Expo 2015. As one of the world’s leading hospitality organisations, Katara Hospitality will extend all the support required to ensure Qatar’s successful participation during Expo Milan 2015, which aims to strengthen Qatar’s presence globally as a world trading hub while retaining its cultural roots and past." 

Hamad Abdulla Al-Mulla, CEO and Board Member of Katara Hospitality added: “We are delighted to be the official partner of the Qatar Pavilion Committee during Expo Milan 2015 by extending hospitality services at our iconic Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan. And we are confident that the approach and the principles of Qatar Pavilion Committee  – Expo 2015 are strategically aligned with the principles underpinning Katara Hospitality’s presence on the global stage.”

Qatar, which is participating with a 2,451-square-metre stand under the theme ‘Seeding Sustainability Innovative Solutions for Food Security’ aims to show its commitment to building a culture of healthy living through the promotion of sports and scientific research for the responsible management of water and precious resources.
