See Event Calendar | See Events list
October 13, 2010 - October 16, 2010

Dear Plastic Surgeons,

IPRAS, the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery would like to announce that it gives you the opportunity and offer you to participate to the Panafrican Section of IPRAS Congress at the preferencial rate of  the early registration fee and thus will give you the opportunity to participate in a significant event for the history of IPRAS. The registration fee to participate in the Pan African Congress of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery will be 380 €.

It is the objective of IPRAS to develop, expand, promote and raise awareness of our specialty around the world and Africa cannot be left out of this effort. Plastic and Reconstructive surgery is growing in the region and we believe that it is the right time to hold our Pan African section Congress, so we can shape the future of our speciality in Africa and set the foundations for future growth in the region.

We prepared a comprehensive scientific program for the participants of our Congress and we feel confident that the scientific programme meets the medical and scientific needs of the participants. By drawing up the programme we wanted to include all the latest techniques and developments in plastic surgery. We believe that the scientific programme will assist the participants in their effort for continuing education and training.

We are particularly happy to announce our keynote speakers: Prof. Edgar Biemer, who performed the world's first double arm transplantation and Prof. Yilin Cao, who received the Barrett Brown Award for his revolutionary work in tissue engineering. We want to give a warm welcome also to another pioneer: Prof. Christian Chaussy, who developped the lithotrypter with his team, - a work that was honoured by nominations for the Nobel prize.

As we are committed to provide help to those who need it, we are going to combine the Pan African Section Congress with a humanitarian mission of our own project 'Women for Women' where female plastic surgeons assist female patients to overcome socially excluding traumas. Also we have included relevant topics to humanitarian issues in our scientific programme' in order to raise awareness among the participants. It's a great opportunity for you to show your support in our efforts.

The conference expects to attract a large number of participants from Africa, for example Egypt, South Africa, Kenya and prominent and outstanding international professionals as invited speakers. As far as abstracts submission is concerned, we have already passed the one hundred mark and we daily receive abstracts from the US, Brazil, China, Egypt, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Germany, Greece, France just to mention a few.
