Video: World Expo 2015 in Milan - Feeding the Planet, Energy For Life
More than 140 nations will be represented at the forthcoming World Expo in Milan, which is slated to run May 1 through October 31 next year. The theme, "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life," is proving to be a popular draw as over six million tickets have already been pre-sold.
The combination of 3,600 events relating to global food supply and food related wellbeing will be staged over the 1 million square-meter site to the north of the city, and the Expo has already secured more than 150 of the world's top restaurants and 80 national pavilions – up from 42 at the previous Expo in Shanghai.
Italy is also using the Expo to highlight the need for enhanced global food security and food related wellbeing and is anticipating over 20 million visitors to the city. The show will encourage delegates to extend their stay beyond Milan to other Italian destinations. Notably, Vatican City which will have its own pavilion in Milan in addition to Venice, Bologna, and Turin.
Incentive packages will be available to incentive houses and corporate planners alike while a special feature of the pre-show marketing will focus on attracting Italian ex-patriots back to the country.
