Italy: Atahotels and BTG-Jianguo to Offer Hospitality Programme for Expo Milan 2015
Italian group Atahotels, which has 21 hotels, and BTG- Jianguo Hotels & Resorts, the Chinese chain with 90 properties, have announced a partnership whose main aim for Atahotels is to capture a large slice of the market made up of the one million Chinese visitors expected in Italy for the Universal Exposition, providing a welcome that meets their expectations in hospitality and restaurant services.
The agreement involves eight Atahotels properties: the Principe di Piemonte in Turin, the Golf Hotel di Madonna di Campiglio, the Expo Fiera in Pero, Milan, the Atahotel Executive in Milan, the Atahotel Bologna, the Atahotel Villa Pamphili in Rome, the Atahotel Capotaormina and the Tanka Village in Villasimius, Sardinia.
“The hotels initially involved will be the beach and mountain resorts, which will be ready to offer typical Chinese fare from the beginning of the next summer season”, explains Roberto Franchi, general manager of Atahotels. “Then, for Expo 2015, we will be in a position to meet increasingly higher culinary and hospitality standards”.
The partnership between Atahotels and BTG-Jianguo also incorporates a cross-training process that, at the same time, will enable the 9 Chinese hotels covered by the agreement to promote themselves on the Italian market, guaranteeing services in line with the demands of Italian guests, particularly in relation to food.
As well as the “missions” of Italian chefs in China and Chinese chefs in Italy to reveal the secrets of their respective gastronomic traditions, the partnership envisages the displaying and publication of the respective brand names (Atahotels in China and Jianguo Hotels in Italy), links on the websites, and, soon, representation, commercial cooperation, training development and loyalty programmes.
