Davidson Sets Homework for Students, Industry and Policymakers

Rob Davidson of MICE Knowledge and former lecturer at Westminster University unveiled the second edition of `Marketing Destinations for Conferences, Exhibitions & Business Events` at the recent ibtm world in Barcelona. Co-written with Tony Rogers of Conference and Event Services, the sequel to the 2006 edition reflects the changes in best practise resulting from technology and sustainability trends and aims to appeal beyond students in hospitality and tourism to the destination marketing sector of the industry and to government policymakers. Davidson reflects further on the importance of accredited education within the sector if the business events industry is to secure recognition as a genuine profession.
