Ink48, Kimpton's destination lifestyle hotel in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen, has recently entered two new partnerships to offer meeting guests new amenities on site. Together with the Manhattan Graphic Center and the Shinnyo Center, Ink48 is redesigning the classic board room meeting to provide attendees new ways to revitalize their thoughts while working.
Through a partnership with the Shinnyo Center, meeting attendees at Ink48 can now experience Guided Meditations, Jazz Meditations and Health and Wellness Tips to keep focused during long meetings and work days. Through guided meditation, participants will explore themes involving cultivating compassion, gratitude and maintaining mindfulness among others with the assistance of an experienced meditation guide. The Jazz Meditation experience allows guests to enjoy a live music performance that will serve as the center of the meditation practice, also lead by an experienced guide. The health and wellness tips and menu counseling explore how people are influenced in their food choices and how self-regulation (or lack of) can be influenced by marketing and society. The meeting break aims at fostering discussion on how people can improve nutrition and wellbeing despite a hectic work schedule.

A Shinnyo nutritionist can be brought in to create a personalized menu for the health and wellness meeting, and can be booked with any of the meditation choices as well. Rates for the menu consultation start at $100. Rates for guided meditation begin at $20 per person, jazz meditation at $40 per person and $35 per person for health and wellness tips and the menu counsel. All amenities require a 15 person minimum.
Through the partnership with the Manhattan Graphics Center, meeting planners can now include a meeting breakout session at Ink48 where participants will be introduced to the art of printmaking. A working artist from the Manhattan Graphics Center will lead a printmaking demonstration and provide a hands-on experience for meeting attendees using a portable printing press. Print styles taught will range from intaglio (or etching) to relief painting (like wood and linocut) to silk-screening. The breakout meetings will also discuss insider tips in addition to a variety of printmaking techniques, as well as the artist’s personal backgrounds in the industry. For an added experience, Ink48 can also arrange for meetings and groups to head to the Manhattan Graphics Center to explore the current exhibits within the gallery.
