A new convention center hotel from developer Related Cos. could be on its way to Palm Beach, the Palm Beach Post reports. The new property would be built next to the company’s Hilton West Palm Beach hotel, which is connected to the Palm Beach County Convention Center

According to WPTV, the hotel would occupy the current site of the valet lot for the Hilton, with one proposal calling for 200 rooms. The new hotel could either be a different brand or an extension of the current Hilton.

The Palm Beach Post reports that a final decision on the project is expected by the end of the year, with the new hotel possibly being built by the end of 2019.

According to The Real Deal, another convention center plus hotel is being planned for Miami Worldcenter, while a convention center hotel project has stalled in Miami Beach after residents rejected a ballot measure on it.
