IMEX Sets Agenda for Politicians Forum

Upcoming events were also top of mind this week as IMEX announced the agenda for the 14th annual IMEX Politicians Forum, which will take place at Hotel Villa Kennedy Frankfurt on April 19. 

The event, which will host more than 40 politicians and political influencers, aims to provide a form to exchange best practices and talk the benefits of investing in conferences and meetings.

2016 Incentive Travel Exchange Event Opens in Las Vegas

This week also saw the 2016 Incentive Travel Exchange at The Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay.

Key happenings at the event this year: through a partnership with SITE, the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, Phillip Eidsvold of Aimia led a complimentary education session aimed at helping attendees learn to define the elements of motivation and behavioral change, plus a keynote address from Dan Clark, expert on leadership & peak performance and New York Times best-selling author of The Art of Significance. The event also had a full schedule of networking opportunities and prescheduled one-to-one meetings in private, luxury suites.

In venue news, this week Sea Island on the coast of Georgia debuted a new 5,000 square foot Mizner Ballroom as part of a new expansion project. 

The multi-functional addition complements the existing ballroom at The Cloister, and brings the resort to a total of 33,000 square feet of flexible event space.

Starwood Announces New Aloft, Element and Four Points Hotels in Florida

Other hotel news from this past Friday included Starwood's announcement for a major expansion of its Aloft, Element and Four Points brands in Florida, representing a growth of more than 40 percent for all three brands in the state by 2019. 

Plans called for new hotels in Coral Gables, Miami, Aventura, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale and more.
