MEET National to Feature MPI Certificate Programs




MEET National will take place September 7-8 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. MEET National is partnering with Meeting Professionals International to provide education classes and certificate programs designed to offer applications to planners.MEET

MEET National is organized by Questex Travel Group, publishers of International Meetings Review.

The certificate programs delivered by the MPI Academy are as follows.

Going Local: Optimize Your Meeting with Local Flavor: This will include best-practice case studies that help planners, venues and destinations leverage a sense of place and create more effective meetings and events.

Meeting Essentials2 Fast Track: During this program event professionals with three to five years of experience will be armed with the knowledge to understand the business purpose of their roles to help better their meeting or meeting portfolios.

Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC): This is an intensive, four-hour educational and training course offers healthcare meeting compliance stakeholders the experience they need to succeed in the changing pharmaceutical and biotech worlds.

The Meeting Essentials and HMCC courses will be held in advance to the opening of MEET National on September 6. The Going Local program will be held on September 8, during the general event. “The MPI Academy is thrilled to be part of MEET National,” said Stephanie Arehart, senior director of professional development for MPI. “Our certificate courses offer baseline to high-level knowledge in a number of areas that are critical to meeting planning. In addition, we will present education sessions where attendees will learn not only from the content of the sessions, but from the design of the sessions as well.”

The event is expected to attract 1,000 attendees, including meeting and event planning professionals and 120 suppliers.

Questex’s meetings group director, Kirk Lewis, expects this revamped event to be a game-changer in the industry by offering one-on-one meetings, an open show floor and excellent education.

“Our partnership with MPI is a strategic one in that the stellar education they will bring to MEET National is just a stepping stone for our portfolio of events,” Lewis said. “We are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship to benefit the industry at all our MICE events.”

The pre-scheduled appointments will run for 12 minutes, there will also be an exclusive charity reception and an open expo floor. The individuals attending will be able to participate in other sessions (at no charge) with topics that include risk management, venue selection, negotiation, content creation and more. MEET will close with a town hall meeting with industry leaders at the helm like Roger Dow, president and CEO of U.S. Travel Association.
