Education ICT giant goes on school run

RM, one of the UK’s leading supplier of ICT in schools, is currently in the middle of a schools roadshow running until May.

Organised by roadshow specialists Event Marketing Solutions, the 2009 RM ICT Tour will take the company’s latest hardware and software products directly to its customers – providing a convenient and time-efficient way for them to find out about new developments.
The formula proved exceptionally successful in 2008, when RM first used the vehicle-based roadshow format, generating sales leads worth £2.3 million and winning a national events industry award.
Consquently, this year’s tour is longer, visiting 36 venues compared to 24 in 2008, and will offer extended opening hours, enabling teachers and pupils to visit either during the day or after lessons.

EMS has carefully researched the venues – predominantly schools and colleges – to ensure maximum visitor numbers from across a wide local area.
“With all the pressures placed on teaching staff today, it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to justify a full day out to research new developments for the classroom,” said RM marketing director Nick Stacey. “By expanding the roadshow, we are offering more customers the opportunity to try out our products first-hand, at a time and a venue to suit them.”
EMS has created a colourful and hi-tech mobile showroom to host the tour, designed to encourage hands-on product trial and informal discussion.
The 11-metre unit includes an eye-catching interactive technology wall – a hub where visitors can try out the latest laptops, PCs and software. There’s also and a 42-inch plasma screen showing product demonstration videos.
Commenting on the latest RM Tour, Keith Austin, managing director at EMS, said: “In the current economic climate, clients are recognising the strong return on investment that a roadshow can deliver, and we are delighted to work with RM on this expanded campaign.
“I am confident that we will once again deliver very strong results, helping RM to demonstrate their evolving technologies in an impactful way, and to build closer relationships with schools and colleges throughout the UK.”
The RM ICT tour launched at the company’s Oxfordshire headquarters on 2 March concludes on 13 May in Middlesbrough.
