Business shows see impressive re-bookings




Nationwide Media Group (NMG), the company behind three of the UK’s largest and most successful business shows, is seeing impressive re-booking figures of 50% for its flagship events.

These figures come as the company launches its innovative Marketing Propeller offer, which gives exhibitors £11,000 worth of free marketing services. Under the Marketing Propeller, exhibitors receive a range of tools to maximise their profiles before, during and after the events held in Manchester, Doncaster and Coventry.

Controversially, NMG believes exhibiting at business shows has traditionally seen companies getting little, if any, added value support from the organisers. NMG claims it has broken this convention by putting together a suite of services from partner companies that are the leaders in their respective fields, including Google, Business Matters, Business Scene, newzapp, I-Com and Eco Agency.

Speaking about the Marketing Propeller, NMG managing director Scott Hider said; “It has never been more important for small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to market themselves aggressively. However, many lack either the resources or the experience to do this effectively. We have recognised this and have put together a suite of services which give exhibitors at our events the tools they need to get the most value out of exhibiting.

“Obviously, businesses that exhibited last year have seen good returns on their investment. That return on investment is being dramatically increased through the introduction of the Marketing Propeller.

“We are dedicated to helping SMEs,” he continued. “Our events have grown in successive years and have become major events in the local business calendar, attracting a wide range of exhibitors, visitors and organisations. We have been able to secure high profile speakers and have put together a programme of seminars which have been designed to be essential to visitors.”

Diane Earles, regional director at The Chartered Instituted of Marketing, praised the Marketing Propeller as “an innovative package of products that delivers real added value and marketing resource to any SME. The Marketing Propeller is offered free to all exhibitors at Business North West (Manchester Central, 28-29 October 2009), Business Yorkshire (Doncaster Racecourse, 25-26 November 2009) and Business Midlands (Ricoh Arena, 12-13 May 2010).
