Airshow wins safety and security award

The National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) has presented its Friendly Venue Tribute Award to Farnborough International Airshow (FIA).

The award represents the fact that airshow organisers, Farnborough International Ltd (FIL), has demonstrated that it has “made every possible effort to keep their premises and visitors secure and safe and to provide the most professional facilities for events and event organisers”.
FIA beat Beaulieu Enterprises, the Falkirk Stadium, Port Lympne Wild Animal Park & Gardens and the Heritage Motor Centre to win the award, which was presented to Farnborough operations representative Jonathan Smith at the Fifth Annual NOEA Tribute Awards, held at the Oxford Belfry recently.
“We were absolutely delighted to win this award and even more so because the NOEA Council actually recommended us for nomination,” said FIL chief executive Shaun Ormrod.

“Farnborough International Airshow is the largest temporary exhibition in the world and a colossal amount of work goes into producing it, in areas none more so than the welfare and safety of our visitors and exhibitors. It is very satisfying indeed to receive this tribute to the hard work and efforts of our fantastic team who achieve these excellent standards.”
