New service offers exclusive use of hotels and venues

Rather than taking a few rooms, why not book the venue or hotel? That’s the concept behind a new web-based service launched recently – yes, that’s yet another events-related businesses that has started up this year, along with Gyro Live, Live Union and EMS’ healthcare division.

Exclusive Use urges corporate buyers to take over a complete hotel as a more cost-effective, flexible – and impressive – option for meetings and incentives. Headed by Business Travel Show founder and publisher Ian Dockreay, it claims to be “a one-stop shop for companies seeking the privacy, security and tailor-made arrangements only possible when a property is booked for sole use”.

The new company features historic castles, imposing stately homes and intimate manor houses among a growing range of venues available in the UK and overseas. With extensive databases, including thousands of corporate buyers, bookers and agents, Exclusive Use is set to provide hotel and venue clients with a very valuable sales resource. The generic name of the site and its specialist approach further enhances the company’s position in the marketplace.

So why set up now, when avoiding going out of business seems to be the issue preoccupying most companies.

“More than ever during a major economic downturn, organisers of meetings, incentives and training events should seek truly memorable venues for better value,” replies Dockreay. “Having a property to yourselves for 24 hours or longer can provide significant benefits and be surprisingly cost-effective.”

The www.exclusiveuse.com website features a portfolio of hotels and venues that welcome groups on a sole-use basis. It provides full information on each property’s accommodation, function rooms and other facilities, along with a range of images.

Event organisers can view the location, capacity and price of each property before compiling a shortlist and checking real-time availability.

“Exclusive Use is also happy to work with event management companies to ensure they achieve the best terms when considering properties for sole use,” says Dockreay.

“Business activities can be combined with social events ideal for company incentives or corporate hospitality,” he continues. “These might include visits to nearby horse-racing or other sporting fixtures, golf courses, shooting estates or music festivals.

“Your guests will enjoy the freedom of treating a place as their own, while assured of the best service and hospitality, and secure in the knowledge that confidentiality is maintained.”

Exclusive Use is constantly adding to its portfolio of venues, and prices start at £5,000 for 24-hour use. The business is certainly a brave venture in the current climate, but it could be one that provides inspiration for companies looking to give something different and of real value to both employees or customers.
