Industry support helps Keep Britain Talking campaign build to an exciting climax




The new initiative to emphasise the importance of meetings and events in the UK, Keep Britain Talking, reaches its zenith later this month with a special campaign week from 21-27 September, coinciding with the Event UK trade show in Birmingham.

Building the campaign up to a crescendo, lots of supporting events are taking place across the UK by companies across the industry.
 
Highlights include the new Visit London Big Event Bus, which leaves Paddington on the 21 September. The on-board team on board will be holding meetings on the bus, and stopping along the way to promote the importance of events ahead of reaching Event UK, which runs from 22-23 September.
 
Already flying the meetings flag, the management team at Riviera International Conference Centre took to the sky in a hot air balloon to show their support for the Keep Britain Talking initiative.
 
Furthermore, Malmaison and Hotel du Vin will also be hosting a series of events across the UK, inviting meetings buyers to their local hotel with the added allure of the groups’ special meetings food offering. Experience Nottinghamshire also hosted a buyer event on 16 September aimed at encouraging the adoption of meetings through the campaign.
 
Other supporting activity has included a sales push from hotel group De Vere to encourage clients to buy meetings during the campaign, through a series of incentive sales conferences. The 50-strong team will meet in London from 21-24 September and adopt the Keep Britain Talking campaign strategy in a nationwide push.
 
“We’ve had a tremendous response from businesses using the Keep Britain Talking campaign as a way of encouraging businesses to use meetings,” said Joss Croft, campaign coordinator and head of business visits and events for VisitBritain.

“Our strategy is fully focused on encouraging the procurement of British meetings and these initiatives help spread the message across the wider business community.”
 
The campaign continues to gain momentum across the UK with Keep Britain Talking branding locally adapted in Nottingham, Birmingham, London, Scotland, Newcastle & Gateshead, Cambridge and Leeds.
