Female trio to lead ICCA Italy

In the context of the recently held 4th Federcongressi national convention, elections took place to renew the Italian Committee of ICCA – the International Congress and Convention Association. The outcome is an all-female triumvirate of young managers with important experience in the sector.

The new Chair is Federica Lucini, marketing coordinator at Convention Bureau della Riviera di Rimini, flanked by Maria Cristina Schiavone, operations manager at PLS Educational – Gruppo GEM (Business Unit Congressi), as deputy chair, and Valeria Guarisco, association manager at Fiera Milano Congressi, as treasurer.

“We have inherited a prestigious and important legacy in the excellent work done under the chairmanship of Leonardo Sorelli, of Newtours, and in the backing provided by the city of Florence,” said Lucini.

“Over the next three years we will do our utmost to capitalise on their experience and ensure further accreditation for brand Italy within the ICCA world.

“This will bring greater visibility for our professionalism and creative skills. And we plan to start working straight away, submitting a proposal to the ICCA headquarters for a session to be included in the programme of the Leipzig Congress that will be of concrete interest for our members and will bring added value to our destination.

“Last but not least,” Lucini continued, “we are ready to support Milan’s bid to host the 2012 ICCA joint Mediterranean and UK & Ireland Chapter Summit.”
