Double delight for Brighton as trade union books twice

The Public and Commercial Service trade union will hold its annual conference in Brighton next year, and has also confirmed that the event will return to the city on England’s south coast in 2012.

The conference is a key part of the PSC’s and its members’ calendar. As the UK’s fifth largest trade union, both conferences will attract more than 1,000 delegates to the week-long programme, which will determine the PCS’s policies and priorities for the year ahead.

VisitBrighton and the Brighton Centre, where the events will be held, played a key role in attracting the conferences, which are estimated to be worth around £8 million to Brighton.

“In a difficult economic climate, it is rewarding to see that the city is not only winning business but re-booking it too,” said Julia Gallagher, convention bureau manager at VisitBrighton.

“Our city and our community have a consistent and proven track record for delivering spectacular events. We understand the importance of such events to the city, and that’s why we work so hard to make Brighton & Hove so attractive, accessible and competitive to organisers.”
